A space for creativity and productive working, hosting events ranging from lectures and meetings to exhibitions and much more, thats what the "Future Work Lab" Krefeld offers to students and staff at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, as well as the city’s residents. Sound good? It is!
And yet, together we have identified the following issues that are significantly holding the project back.
1. The project lacks awareness and publicity, which is why it is not as popular as hoped.
2. For newcomers, there are no signs to help them find their way around the space.
3. The building is wonderfully bright, but there are no solutions to deal with blinding sunlight.
4. The rooms are not very inviting visually; they feel more like an office and lack character.
As part of the group project for a course, we developed a total of five concepts to overcome these obstacles.
You can see the results I contributed to here.
GIVE AWAY

To involve people, invite them in and explain what the Future Work Lab does, I created these postcards, that hold information and also act as poll cards to collect feedback and ideas for the project from the target group.
Featuring A6 poll-cards printed on recycling paper and a clear, acrylic feedback cube.

SCREENS

With this concept we solved three of the main issues at once:
Gaining popularity, preventing glare and giving soul to the rooms.
Featuring hand painted screens.
